Stress is the consequence of the failure of an organism — human or other animal — to respond adequately to mental, emotional, or physical demands, whether actual or imagined. It can also be caused by the conscious effort, whether successful or not, to choke the life out of some idiot that really deserves it. Well, that is the clinical and urban description but what is it?
What is Stress?
Stress is a very personal thing, but to me it is the effect of bad preparation – if I haven’t fended off all the negative energy that I should, or if I’ve failed to manage my work-load, or if I’ve failed to assist in the way that I wanted to. So to me stress is simply the acknowledgement of my own failure, and when you see it in those terms it all becomes rather easy to understand. Of course, this is a gross over-simplification which some would find offensive and stress them, but to me it’s just another easy-to-understand term which is basically me reminding myself that I should try a little harder. Not too much, don’t want to pull a muscle or anything.
Is stress a disease?
Well you can stress someone out quite easily if you have a mind to, so it can be consciously passed from one person to another. So it could be describes in that way as a ‘dis-ease’ but you can also choose not to upset anyone else, which is a bi-product of fending off negativity, by the way. Unfortunately that won’t stop the other person getting stressed – it will just stop it being your fault. So here is my personal guide to stress-free life:
- Stay in bed
- Don’t drive
- Do not speak to anyone
- Do not attempt to use a confuser (computer)
- Do not go to work
- Do not socialise or eat anything.
If you are struggling with any of the above then welcome to the human race, and you are pretty much screwed when it comes to getting rid of stress, but there is one ikle ray of hope even if it is tiny: you could try being the best person you can, as they say in the Chewitts television advert “its a long shot but it just might work”.
